  10. Keep a close look on your disk space with diskSpace Explorer, a space
  11. manager that features an intuitive pie chart that graphically displays
  12. the contents of your folders. You can easily navigate through your files
  13. and folders just by clicking anywhere on the pie chart. diskSpace
  14. Explorer reports detailed information about the amount of space used and
  15. wasted by your files and folders. You may also see how your drive would
  16. look with another cluster size or file system, feature that can help you
  17. make intelligent allocation decisions. diskSpace Explorer can help you
  18. gain free space by compressing folders, by reducing the wasted space or
  19. by deleting the folders you no longer need. Fast, versatile and easy to
  20. use.

  23. Installation
  24. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

  26. diskSpace Explorer is normally distributed inside a ZIP archive
  27. through online services. Unzip the distribution files into a temporary
  28. directory. Run the SETUP.EXE program by selecting Start/Run in
  29. Windows 95. The setup program will prompt you for a destination
  30. directory (C:\Program Files\diskSpace Explorer is default) and will
  31. create a diskSpace Explorer program group. You may remove the setup
  32. files from the temporary directory after the installation is
  33. complete. An uninstall utility is included with diskSpace Explorer to
  34. remove the program from your system.

  51. What's new in version 2.0? (March 01, 1999)

  54. Version 2.0 contains a lot of major improvements. Many features have
  55. been added.

  57. *** Interface Improvements ***
  58.  
  59. The Pie Chart page has been redesigned. The pie chart display has been
  60. improved. The user can now customize all the colors of the pie chart.

  62. The Folder Information page has been redesigned. The information is
  63. displayed in a more intuitive manner.

  65. A new page (the Subfolders page) has been added. It lists the subfolders
  66. of the current folder and contains detailed information about them.

  68. The Wasted Space page has been redesigned. The wasted space information
  69. is now displayed for individual folders, not only for drives.

  71. A new page (the Free Some Space page) has been added. It contains a few
  72. options that can be used to free up disk space.

  74. *** Major Improvements ***

  76. diskSpace Explorer can now help you to free up disk space. You can gain
  77. space by compressing folders and their files to ZIP archives (diskSpace
  78. Explorer can move folders to ZIP archive and later restore them to their
  79. original location). You can reduce the wasted space by moving entire
  80. folders on drives with a smaller cluster size. You can also delete the
  81. folders you no longer need.

  83. diskSpace Explorer is now able to display detailed information about
  84. the amount of space wasted by individual folders, not only the amount
  85. of wasted space on a whole drive.

  87. When switching to a user defined cluster size, diskSpace Explorer no
  88. longer has to rescan the drive(s) in order to report information using
  89. that cluster size.

  93. diskSpace Explorer can now export pie charts to graphic files (.BMP or
  94. .EMF).

  96. A lot of new topics have been added to the On-Line Help. The 
  97. documentation has been improved and offers tips and solutions to reduce
  98. the wasted space and to free disk space.
